We were delighted with the huge success of our fundraising fashion show, *REAL WOMEN SHINE*, that took place in BODEGA CORK on Nov 10th.
20 Models showed outfits from a variety of local boutiques and shops, styled personally by Nikola. Shops included Sheena’s Boutique, Fran & Jane, Penneys, Marks & Spencer, Vanilla, Element, Saville Menswear etc. The ladies looked stunning in their outfits from Sheena’s, Fran & Jane, Vanilla, Element with Saville and Mahers dressing the male models. Dunnes Stores, Marks and Spencer, Debenhams and Penney’s all enthusiastically supported this fashion show with a difference.
What made the show even more special is that we used *Real Women* to model, some of whom have used the ARC House facilities themselves. The first half featured the ladies showcasing their casual numbers. The interval featured a singing performance ‘Fever’ by Maxine Jones, which raised the temperature even higher. A dance performance by Marta Kolasa and Brian Trought kicked off the second half of the show where Hurler Diarmiud O’Sullivan, and soccer stars Declan Daly, Dave Barry, and Munster Rugby players Billy Holland and Tom Gleeson were met with rioutous applause from the audience of over 200. Broadcaster Martina O’Donoghue also modeled with The Lady Mayoress, Tanya Murphy adding the final touch of glamour and elegance to an already truly wonderful evening.
It was a great night in the Bodega, a real celebration of beauty, survival, recovery, and friendship.
Photographer JESSICA JONES of Pineapple Studios and Personal Stylist NIKOLA BARRET of NB Style have organised a fashion show with a difference in aid of Cork ARC Cancer Support House to take place Nov 10th in Cork’s BODEGA at 7:30pm

What makes the show even more special is that we are using Real Women to model, some of whom have used the ARC House facilities themselves. The evening is a celebration of life, recovery from all kinds of battles with life, real beauty, friendship, and good, clean fun!
Hurler Diarmiud O’Sullivan, and soccer stars Declan Daly and Dave Barry together with some stars from the rugby world will model on the night, as well as broadcaster and journalist Martina O’Donoghue.
All proceeds will go to Cork ARC Cancer Support House, a voluntary organization established to provide a holistic centre in which people with cancer and their families can find emotional support and practical help. ARC’s aim is to provide therapies that complement the medical model, so as to make a difference to the lives of those affected by cancer. On Saturday, July 5th, 2008 Jessica held a One Day Lighting Workshop in Pineapple Studios.
The day, attended by keen amateur photographers, was a hands-on approach to showing the basic principles of studio lighting. A model, the gorgeous Lisa from Lockdown Model & Events management, was present for the afternoon and participants each had a chance to pose, light, and photograph her for their own portfolios / blogs.
There will be more courses in the Autumn. In particular, Jessica is working on an 8 week course which will give participants a chance to absorb information and make work over a longer period. Contact Jessica if you’re interested or have any questions.

This year Jessica will be in Douglas Court Shopping Centre, on Saturday, April 5th, from 11:30 – 5:30, to take portraits of single sitters from the age of 4 to 104. The presentation size this year is a 5×7 print and the donation is € 35.
100% of the donation goes to the nominated charity.

Jessica will be doing another Meet the Public Promotion on October 4-6. It’s a chance for people to see our work, chat with Jessica, book appointments for Christmas Portraits (hard to believe but it really isn’t too early in the year to think about it!), and have a free, fun portrait taken right there and then!

During the week of June 11th – 15th, Pineapple Studios will be running a competition on Neil Prendeville’s show. Five €400 Portrait Sessions will be given away!
The lucky winners will be treated like the royalty everyone is once they enter through the doors of Pineapple Studios, and enjoy an hour’s relaxing and fun shoot. They’ll come back a few days later for their Viewing, where they will select from approximately 40 or so images, the ones they want to grace their walls at home.

Pineapple Studios @ John Sheehan Photography is pleased to be taking part in the annual HAPPY FACES charity event, which will run on April 1st at participating photographers throughout the country.
We will be offering this charity promotion during the week before and the week following April 1st! You will receive a beautiful 8×10 Portrait with all proceeds being donated to DEBRA Ireland.
The event, sponsored by the Irish Professional Photographer’s Association, aims to raise funds and awareness for the nominated charity. This year, DEBRA Ireland, which works with children suffering from the painful skin condition Epidermolysis Bullosa (EP), has been nominated.
The fund raising idea is simple: participating IPPA photographers open the doors to their studios, take individual portraits for €20, with the proceeds going to DEBRA Ireland. Anyone can come into the studio, and have their portrait done - old and young alike!
100% of every donation will be paid directly to DEBRA Ireland
All costs for this charity even are being donated by participating photographer

Pineapple Studios was in Ballincollig Shopping Centre from February 8th to 10th, showing off our work and offering free portraits taken on location in the centre.
I was happy to have Greta, Photography student at St. John’s College, assisting me for the three days.
We’d like to thank Jim O’Leary, Centre Manager, for being most helpful and accommodating. Thanks are also due to Dave O’Connor of Hickey’s Pharmacy, and his staff, who cheerfully printed our free portraits so that people could collect them the next day.
It was enjoyable to be in this pleasant and bright shopping centre, meeting people and getting feedback on our images – all very positive!
We’ll be doing another ‘meet the public’ promotion before long and will keep you posted right here.
